PYK-2101 Retinal Sealant
- The retinal detachment is repaired in the usual manner and retinal breaks are sealed with laser
- Instead of injecting gas or oil, PYK-2101 is applied to the site of retinal breaks, forming a solid gel
- This gel barrier prevents fluid from being introduced to the subretinal space
- After several weeks, the gel biodegrades and is eliminated from the eye
